• Check-in timestamps
• Friend connections (mutually accepted only)
• Device push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
• Trusted contact phone numbers (if you choose to add them)

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not access your contacts without explicit permission
• We do not track your location
• We do not store photos or media
• We do not collect device identifiers for advertising
• We do not sell your data to third parties

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the check-in service to you and your friends
• Send push notifications when friends nudge you
• Alert your trusted contacts if you haven't checked in (only if you enable this feature)
• Respond to support requests

Data Sharing

Your check-in status is only visible to friends you have mutually accepted. We do not sell your data to third parties. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the app, including:

• Cloud hosting providers (Supabase)
• Push notification services (Expo)
• SMS services for trusted contact alerts (Twilio)

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account, we permanently delete:

• Your profile information
• Your check-in history
• Your friend connections
• Your trusted contact information
• All associated data

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. Your password is stored securely using one-way hashing. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device.

Children's Privacy

StayLit is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.

Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
